Chucky, Everyone’s Favorite Killer Doll, Now Has His Own Pumpkin Beer

Chucky, the knife-wielding killer doll from everyone’s nightmares, first appeared in the 1988 film Child’s Play and has since become a cultural icon in the 34 years thereafter. He has been in eight feature films and was recently cast in an eponymous television series on Syfy and USA Network. Now for something completely different: Chucky is getting his own beer just in time for Halloween.

Chucky: A Killer Wit Beer is a seasonal fall beer created in an official partnership between the show and Seattle-based brewery Elysian Brewing. It is designed to be as “devious” as the doll. The 5.3 percent ABV pumpkin beer with a wheat base also incorporates cranberry juice, making it “light in color with spine-chilling notes of chamomile and cinnamon – the ideal combo of everything you love about the season.” The cans have Chucky’s frightening face front and center, and if you’re looking for the beer on draft, look for the tap handle, which resembles a huge knife.

“Chucky is one of Halloween’s most iconic, adored characters, and we have found the right partner in Elysian Brewing to capture his energy this season,” Ellen Stone, executive vice president for entertainment consumer engagement and brand strategy at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said. “This bespoke pumpkin beer offers a new, one-of-a-kind opportunity for fans and beer enthusiasts alike to quench their thirst with a taste of Chucky ahead of the season two premiere.”

Though Elysian already produces a number of pumpkin beers, including a “Pumpkin Pack” (which, for the record, does not include the Chucky drink), co-founder Joe Bisacca noted that the brewery wanted to try something new for their collaboration. “This is precisely what makes brewing pumpkin beers appealing. You can experiment with a variety of techniques with the same basic gourd ingredient “He stated. “Chucky: A Killer Wit Beer is extremely drinkable and light, and we believe it will appeal to a wide range of palates. From the blood-red cranberry to the cinnamon undertones, this limited-edition wit captures many of our favorite fall flavors.”

Despite its limited availability, Chucky: A Killer Wit Beer is currently accessible at select bars and retailers around the country. (According to Elysian, ardent Chucky lovers can use the beer finder on their website to locate a retailer near them.) Meanwhile, Chucky the show’s second season premieres on Wednesday, October 5.
