Meet Virginia’s Rising Rap Music Artist KBG Bando – Kevin Gates is a Fan

While most rappers in the game chase clout and easy fame—one artist has his eyes set on something bigger to leave his legacy.

The 27-year-old from Martinsville, Virginia, a small town bordering North Carolina, is turning heads with his genre-blending tunes—and he has his eyes set on making his mark in the music industry.

KGB Bando is committed to bringing authenticity to his work—all while balancing being a father and a hit-maker.

Fresh off the release of his latest album—coincidentally dropped on Valentine’s Day—Bando doesn’t see himself stopping anytime soon.

“This project was a statement,” he said. “I’m here to solidify myself as a real artist and put Virginia on the map.”

Virginia is home to several music legends, including Pharrell and Missy Elliott—now, it’s Bando’s time to shine.

The artist’s love of music doesn’t stop at rap from the southern state—he’s also bringing east coast and west coast together.

“I do a little bit of everything,” Bando said in a statement. “L.A., Detroit, the DMV—I mix it all in my sound.”

While many rap artists have garnered criticism for promoting violence, Bando stays true to his Southern charm—aligning himself with nonviolent narratives without compromising self-expression.

“Violence has always existed, but I don’t promote it,” he explained. “My music is real life—it tells stories, not just trends.”

The father to a five-year-old girl balances his family-oriented lifestyle with being an emerging talent in the music industry.

Bando even caught the attention of A-lister Kevin Gates, who personally co-signed him after hearing one of his tracks in a club.

“[Kevin Gates] was rocking with it,” Bando said. “That moment was crazy.”

It’s not just industry heavyweights giving the rising rap star their seal of approval, his fanbase is growing exponentially—with a recent surge in streams.

In addition to organic growth, an authentic sound, and a commitment to his roots—KBG Bando made it clear that he’s a serious musician and not in it for the short term. He’s committed to making an impact for his community, family, and loyal fans.

“Next year?” he teased. “I might be one of the biggest artists out.”

At this rate, he just might be.

KGB Bando’s music, including his latest album Littest in da Bity, is available on all major streaming platforms.
